Congratulations!! It appears to be a beautiful and authentic restoration. I just purchased an L-4J, sn 12358. It is in great condition in Cub yellow. It does not restoration, but I am going to gather as much info about it as possible should restoration ever occur. Where are you located? I used to be the president of EAA Chap 156 in Williamsburg VA.
Again, great looking airplane.

I was researching Jerry Shallbetter when I came across this interview. In my Book, "Crusader 23 I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good" www.blurb.com. I write about how Norm and I, as young children, would use a model airplane "taildragger" as a prop for a poor kids flight simulator. One of us would sit on a kitchen chair with a broomstick and go through the motions of flying while the other would move the model airplane around the room. We learned to be both the pilot and the plane. Good interview, norm and nice picture of our old Cessna 120.

This was a fascinating article I came upon through Facebook. The whistler was a great airplane and I am wondering what the status is now. The pictures were fun to see. I am not doing any flying anymore but still ride motorcycles.

Jim,
Congrats on the taxi tests. Nice to see that all is going well with the Whistler project.
I am quite interested in Mr. Sisler's Whistler and would like to build a 1/4 scale R/C replica of it in its original yellow and blue paint scheme. If you have any photos or 3-view drawings of the Whistler, I would very much appreciate any help you coukd provide. I know that the Cygnet was based on the SF-2, but I was wondering how close the actual dimensions are to the Whistler.
Please feel free to contact me with the included e-mail if you are able to help in any way.
Continue to keep alive the spirit and roots of what made the EAA such a great orginization.
           Thank you,
                        Brad Algra
