EAA Chapter 25

Reminder: This month, we will meet at BASEC, our chapter hangar at Airlake, on Wednesday, February 16th – Chili on at 6:30, meeting at 7pm. Please bring something to go with chili (crackers, cheese, desserts)to share. Program, map and directions on page 3.

The January On Final is now available and can be downloaded here. This month Norm Tesmar and Bob Poore put together a great article on Bob’s Piet. Also, see the new paint job on Gary Rene’s Celerity on page 8. Reminder: This month, we will meet at BASEC, our chapter hangar at Airlake, on Wednesday, January 19th – grill on at 6, meeting at 7pm. Please bring something to grill and something to share. The Piet group will have Pietenpol history and videos, and report on the group’s progress. They are also planning to bring the fuselage down to BSAEC for the meeting. Map and directions on page 3.

The weather is cold, but not cold enough to stop Chapter 25! Here are our events for this month:

• Young Eagles is scheduled (weather permitting) for Saturday, 15 January at Airlake.
• Chapter 25 Board of Directors meeting will occur following the Young Eagles event, but if weather doesn’t permit a Young Eagle rally, the Board will meet at 10AM at BSAEC.
• Monthly Chapter 25 meeting, on Wednesday, January 19, at BSAEC will feature Pietenpol Group members presenting on the origins and history of Pietenpol airplanes as well as an update on the current building project.

The Chapter 25 Christmas Gathering is Sunday, December 12th, 1 to 5PM at Pat and Sandy Halligan’s. If you want to bring a “sweet treat” or a beverage to add to what we’re preparing, please do. We look forward to an enjoyable social afternoon with members and guests.

The next Chapter 25 meeting is November 17th, Wednesday, at 7PM. We won’t be cooking brats this month due to location.

Dale Johnson will be conducting a discussion and tour of the WWII CG-4 combat glider that is under construction by him and several others. You can view a few photos of the CG-4 project from 2009 to get a sense of the amazing scope this project. Also present will be members of the soaring club.

When you enter the Circle, Villaume is ahead and to the right. Turn right and proceed to the far back of Bldg 2.

If several members can carpool, it will relieve “parking stress” in a limited area.

Chapter 25′s Annual Banquet promises to be a great time. Our speaker will be photographer Max Haynes. Caution, be prepared to spend some time on the site, it is very entertaining and the photos will having you drooling on your keyboard!
