Thanks to Noel Allard, Tim Barzen, John Koser, Craig Nelson, Dan Jackson, Peter Denny, and Kris Olson for their contributions and assistance this month.

Our meeting this month (Wed, Feb 17th) is at BSAEC (Bert Sisler Aviation Education Center, our chapter hangar) at Airlake – the grill will be on at 6pm as usual – please bring something to share, meeting at 7pm. Directions and program are on page 3.

Please note that we may have an extra large crowd this month, as Ben McQuillan will be presenting a Wing’s Safety Seminar on engine problems on takeoff and recent changes at FCM. The public is invited, and the seminar will start at 7:30pm after a brief chapter meeting. We’ll have membership forms and extra newsletters set out for visitors. Please welcome them.

Check with Bill Brown if you are thinking about volunteering for young eagles on Feb 20th – we may not have kids to fly this month. John Koser is still planning on a board meeting on the 20th, with the time to be determined.

Don Ingraham, of www.crosscountrysoaring.com will bring a presentation on soaring and the launching system they use.

November 21: Chapter Meeting at Airlake
Richard Shearman, an Inspector with the Minneapolis FSDO, will attend our November meeting and will try to bring someone from the Airworthiness area as well.
Mark Korin will be presenting and demonstrating is Alpha Systems AOA (Angle-of-Attack) instrument. Mark is from Ramsey, MN, where he has design, engineering, machining, testing operations to produce an his instrument.

Mark is an Electrical/Mechanical engineer, with design interests in several areas. The angle of attack system he has is an outstanding example of a critical piece of instrumentation that we all probably should have in our airplanes. He has modified and improved the system to the state of a very visible, useful, easy to install instrument. Mark has also developed an excellent demonstration of the system, as mounted on an aircraft panel. This device, along with his wide array of descriptive informational material should be of great value to us all, pilot or pilot wannabe, builder or builder wannabe.
