Saturday, January 17, 2015 – Chapter 25 Young Eagle Event – Winter Young Eagle events are conducted at the Airlake FBO terminal. Contact Kris Olson, Young Eagles Coordinator if you can be a pilot or ground crew member.

Wedneday, January 21, 2015 – Chapter 25 Meeting – Offsite! – The Chapter 25 meeting this month will be at the Minneapolis Community and Technical Center (MCTC) in downtown Minneapolis. We will be touring the FAA ATC Training Facility. Note that the meeting starts early this month. The meeting starts at 6:30 pm at MCTC so leave when you have to in order to be downtown, parked and at the ATC Training facility within MCTC at 6:30 pm. Please be prompt. Car pool with other members if you can. Wednesday Evenings* – Ch. 25 Pietenpol Build Project – All Chapter 25 members are invited to come and work on the Ch. 25 Pietenpol Building Project. Learn the art and craft of building a homebuilt airplane from Ch. 25 members who have hours of experience building airplanes. We are working at Dale Johnson’s (MAHOF) shop. Contact Kim V. December Chapter 25 Activities

Sunday, December 7, 2014 – Chapter 25 Holiday Party – The Chapter 25 Holiday Party will be on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Pat and Mary Hoyt’s home, 1620 Blackhawk Lake Dr. in Eagan. Food, coffee and soft drinks will be provided by the Chapter. Feel free to bring some beer and/or wine to share. This takes the place of our regular December Chapter meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month so be sure to put this on your calendar. There will not be a Chapter meeting on December 17, 2014.

Wednesday, November 19, 2014 – Chapter 25 Meeting – For our Chapter meeting on November 19th, Sharon Sandberg will tell us about AllStarWarbirds, Flight Expo and the Youth BuidAPlane Program. In addition, after being put off by yours truly month after month, Greg Cardinal and Bob Poore have still agreed to tell us about their experiences flying their Pietenpols to Brodhead and Air Venture this summer. They have valuable stories to relate.

Saturday, March 15, 2014 – Young Eagle Event – Contact Kris Olson, Young Eagles Coordinator, to volunteer to help with the Young Eagles. Ground crew workers are always needed. Kris will put you to work as a pilot’s assistant or as a teacher of aviation principles to kids.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 – Chapter 25 Meeting – We have a short EAA Chapter Video on EAA’s Advocacy Program and the Bearhawk LSA and then Plans Night. Bring a pot luck dish to share.

Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, 2014 – First Annual Great Minnesota Aviation Gathering – The Minnesota Pilots Association is hosting this event at the Golden Wings Air Museum at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport (KANE). You can register for the MN Pilot’s Assoc. and get more information about the organization and the Aviation Gathering at http://www.mnpilots.org. The Minnesota Pilots Association’s aim is to serve as an organization which brings together members of EAA, AOPA, flying clubs, 99′s, etc., in order to generate a more active voice in matters pertaining to pilots and general aviation in Minnesota.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 – Chapter 25 Meeting – In the spirit of the Winter Olympics, we will have a Post WWII Air Force Airplane Identification and Fun Facts Game Night at our Chapter Meeting on the 19th this month. Come prepared for the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Bring a pot luck dish to share.

January 2014 Chapter Activities

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 – Chapter 25 Meeting – We are going to have a double treat at our Chapter meeting on the 15th this month to start off another exciting year in aviation. First, instructor Dan Lutgen, and two students, Brandon and Leah, from the Canby High School Aviation Dept. will tell us how they won the General Aviation Manufacturer Association (GAMA) virtual aviation design challenge. This earned them an expenses paid trip to the Glasair manufacturing plant in Arlington, WA where they built two airplanes in two weeks under Glasair’s two weeks to taxi (TWTT) program.

Second, Dr. Randle S. Corfman is coming to teach us “Survival Medicine for Aviators”, which is important for winter flying. Randy is president of the newly formed Minnesota Pilots Association whose aim is to serve as an organization which brings together members of EAA, AOPA, flying clubs, 99′s, etc., in order to generate a more active voice in matters pertaining to pilots and general aviation in Minnesota. The Minnesota Pilots Association is hosting the First Annual Great Minnesota Aviation Gathering at the Golden Wings Air Museum on March 21-22, 2014, to which Chapter 25 members are invited, so reserve these dates on your calendars. Dr. Corfman is an AME and can bring us up to date on the medical certification process. Randy is a member of Chapter 237 at Anoka. All who attend will receive FAAST credit under the Wings program.
