Dick Navratil Gone West 6/4/2015 – We are deeply saddened by the loss of this good friend who unflinchingly gave of his time, resources and expertise regarding building homebuilt airplanes. Dick was a quiet, low-key person who could talk to anyone, especially about airplanes. One of the Pietenpols he built made the cover page of SPORT AVIATION, EAA’s monthly magazine. That picture is now posted on “Builder’s Wall” in the BSAEC Chapter hangar. Dick would be near the top of the many people who have ‘put back’ far more than they have taken. In the final measure, he was just a simple easy-going guy, a joy to spend time with on a sunny day at the airport. Dick was a well-liked, extremely active Chapter member. He was very generous with his talents, time and resources in support of Chapter activities. His love of aviation was always apparent. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will always remain with us of Chapter 25. Well done, Dick Navratil.
