EAA Chapter 25 January, 2018 Activities

Filed under: Uncategorized — kjohnson at 3:09 pm on Monday, January 1, 2018

Wednesday, January 17 - This month’s meeting will be at our Chapter hangar, the Bert Sisler Aviation Education Center (BSAEC) at Airlake Airport in Lakeville, MN. The meeting will be a tig welding seminar hosted by the local Lakeville Tollgas Welding store in collusion with local tig welding experts Joe Spinella and Tony Dies. Lauren with Tollgas will be bringing some tig welding machines to do some hands on welding demonstrations. The Lakeville store is on Facebook and can be found by searching for @tollgaslakeville. Tig welding is a good option for welding chromoly tubing fuselages, motor mounts, and aluminum fuel tanks found in experimental aircraft. Other materials and applications are certainly possible. Please bring your shade 10 or above welding helmets if you have one to watch the welding and share with others who do not have helmets.

Grill gets fired up at 6, meeting starts at 7. The Chapter will furnish the meat, buns, beverages, condiments, hardware and napkins. Bring a side dish to pass. A $5 donation is suggested to cover the cost. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome!

Be sure to mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

“If you love what you do and are willing to do what it takes, it’s within your reach. And it’ll be worth every minute you spend alone at night, thinking and thinking about what it is you want to design or build.”
Steve Wozniak,
engineer and entrepreneur
