You have heard about the Girls in Aviation Day event coming up. Here is more information and how to sign up to volunteer now.

The Girls in Aviation Day event is on September 23, 2017. It is put on by the Women in Aviation Stars of the North (Minneapolis) chapter. This is the 3rd year that this event is being held locally. Other chapters are holding Girls in Aviation Day events the same day around the world. This event will be held at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie at Premier Jet Center, 14801 Pioneer Trail, from 10 am to 3 pm. Some EAA Chapters are working together to offer Young Eagles rides that day at Flying Cloud Airport also. They are planning for lots of girls, boys and parents to attend the Girls Day event. They reached their attendee signup limit on August 24th. People can still show up on the event date.

There is an opportunity for people to volunteer with this event in the EAA Young Eagles area, especially with the amount of interest from the kids and parents. Pilots and ground crew can volunteer anywhere from 8 am to 4 pm, either certain hours or half day or all day. More information will be provided about the Young Eagles rides schedule. Here is a link to sign up to volunteer either as a pilot or as a ground crew. This sign up link is for the Girls Day expo and for the EAA Young Eagles area. Please list EAA YE when you sign up, so the organizers can give your information to the correct coordinator. http://www.starsofthenorth.org/girls-in-aviation-day.html

Brad Johnson is coordinating the EAA Young Eagles rides area. Let me know if you have any questions or if you need to contact Brad Johnson. I look forward to seeing a lot of you at the event.
