Wednesday, January 18 – This month’s meeting will be at our Chapter hangar, the Bert Sisler Aviation Education Center (BSAEC) at Airlake Airport in Lakeville, MN. The presentation will be a demonstration on how to build a homemade ADS-B receiver from parts ordered from ebay or Amazon. Parts are around $100 and the finished product will allow you to receive ADS-B weather data while in flight. It can talk to a GPS enabled iPad via wireless network connection and displays information on a moving map. It’s built out of inexpensive and easily obtainable components that simply plug together. It should be fun watching one assembled. Chapter member Jeff Coffey has volunteered to buy all the components and put together his homemade ADS-B receiver in front of the group. We hope to project on the big screen the build for all to see.

Grill gets fired up at 6, meeting starts at 7. The Chapter will furnish the meat, buns, beverages, condiments, hardware and napkins. Bring a side dish to pass. A $5 donation is suggested to cover the cost. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome!
