Hangar Cleanup Session

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 9:54 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Hangar cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday morning, 4 April.  Specific tasks aren’t clarified as yet, but we’ll probably need to:

a) remove unwanted stuff,
b) sweep and clear the area,
c) stow equipment as needed,
d) clean out and restock cabinets (food serving stuff) below the countertop as needed,
e) clean out and check on the refrigerators,
f) re-organize the upper deck (Jon Cumpton’s project – he’ll possibly want assistance),
g) clear wall areas as much as possible for future improvements including:  electrical outlet modifications, insulation, windows on south wall, etc.,
h) ???????? .
We could have a brat roast at noon following the work session.  -Anyone interested?  If so, please contact John Koser and he’l coordinate.

Spring Thaw at Chapter 25 Hangar

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 11:21 am on Sunday, March 15, 2009

Chapter 25 received a note from Mark Manthey,  leadman for MAC, asking that all  members be asked to PLEASE stay out of the mud.

The spring message about turf is as usual – it’s soft out there!

For our Wednesday meeting we’ll have to find places to park on hard surfaces without blocking taxiways.  How will we do that?  -Carpool (4 to a car)?  Park at someone’s unused hangar? Rideshare from the FBO?  I’m sure we’ll find answers. Please pass the word to those not regulary using the web or the Yahoo group.

See you on the 18th!

Chili Feed Recap

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 2:02 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2009

Chapter 25’s annual chili feed was the best attended in two years.  Lots of varieties of chili appeared, as well as several side dishes, including salads, cornbread, and desserts.  The event was attended by over two dozen of us, including several spouses.  On a mid 20s day in March, we had the hangar warmed up in an hour, tables and chairs set up, and lots of enthusiasm.

Following the chili feed, a Chapter 25 Board meeting was held.  Items discussed were:
  • Building maintenance
  • Annual hangar cleanup scheduled for the first Saturday in April
  • Jon Cumpton’s project to put the mezzanine in better order
  • Insulation and electrical work on the walls
  • Installation of two large windows on the south wall
  • A possible trip to Duluth to visit the Cirrus plant and Bong Center
  • Future meeting topics
Looks like we’ll have a busy and constructive spring!
