I was researching Jerry Shallbetter when I came across this interview. In my Book, "Crusader 23 I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good" www.blurb.com. I write about how Norm and I, as young children, would use a model airplane "taildragger" as a prop for a poor kids flight simulator. One of us would sit on a kitchen chair with a broomstick and go through the motions of flying while the other would move the model airplane around the room. We learned to be both the pilot and the plane. Good interview, norm and nice picture of our old Cessna 120.

Hi Norm,
It was really great reading your article(more than an article really). There is no doubt, you are a fair dinkum Aviator and I feel very priveledged to have had the opportunity to have flown with you in the J-3 CUB, when I was last in your neck of the woods--special thanks to Peter for that. I really wish I was able to rake up the dough to come back over and visit you blokes again this Oshkosh, but unfortunately it won't happen this year, besides I've still got the RV6 to finish.
It's taken me awhile to log onto the Chapter 25 Web Site-(tried after I returned home from Oshkosh in 2004, but for some reason, had no success-Once again, thanks to Peter,I've been successful this time). You can be assured, I'll be a regular visitor from now on.
All the best to you Norm and I look forward to the next time we meet--Maybe down this way,eh!
Please pass on my best wishes to all Chapter25 Members.

Regards,
Richard Terry.
